what are the qualifications required for being a drug inspector? which colleges offer the course for drug inspector? |

Requirements to become a drug inspector:-
A. Educational : Degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine with specialization in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology from a recognized University or equivalent. Pharmacy degree obtained must be from PCI approved college and candidate be registered with state or central pharmacy council. B. Experience : 3 years' experience in the manufacture or testing of Biological and special products specified in Schedule 'C' and 'C'(1) to the Drugs & Cosmetics Rules, 1945. C. AGE : A candidate must be under 32 years and above 21 years of age. The upper age-limit is relaxable by 3 (three) years for candidates belonging to Socially & Educationally Backward Classes, 5 (five) years for candidates belonging to the categories of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Women and eligible Ex-Servicemen candidates. Note: No person who has any financial interest in the import/manufacture of sale or drugs and cosmetics shall be appointed as an Inspector, under the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1945. |

PAY : Rs.6,500-200-10,500/- plus other admissible allowances as per prevalent rules. 1 Higher starting pay may be granted to the candidates who are not already in State Govt. service & possess exceptional higher qualifications and /or experience. 2 Higher starting pay may be granted only if suitable candidates are not available on the minimum of pay scale. 3 The extent to which higher starting pay may be granted will be decided by Govt. on merit of each case. and also ... |

AGE :
1 Not more than 35 years as on 1st April, 2008. Relaxable as per rules. 2 The upper age limit shall not apply to the employee of Government of Maharashtra. 3 Age limit may be relaxed in case of candidates who possess exceptional qualification or experience or both. |

QUALIFICATIONS :
1 Candidates must ---- 1.1 possess a degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Chemistry or Medicine with specialisation in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology from a university established in India by Law; AND THEREAFTER 1.2 possess practical experience in the manufacture or testing of drugs or enforcement of the provisions of the Act for a period of not less than three years. 2 preference may be given to candidates having a postgraduate degree in the subject mentioned in sub-clause .1 above or research experience in the synthesis and testing of drugs. |

GENERAL:
1 Selected candidates will be on probation for a period of two years. There are prospects of promotion to the post of Assistant Commissioner, Group-A and Technical Officer (Allopathy), Group-A in Food & Drug Administration 2 Selected candidates will be required to sign the agreement embodying the condition of their service including the condition to serve Govt. for a period of 5 years or to pay a penalty of Rs.500/-(Rs.Five Hundred) or such other sum as may be prescribed by Government. 3 Selected candidates having medical qualification will be debarred from doing any private practice but will be paid compensatory allowances in lieu according to the rules. 4 A medical graduate selected for appointment to the post, shall be required to get himself registered under the Maharashtra Medical Council Act, 1965 (Mah. XLVI of 1965) before joining the post, unless he has already so registered or his name is borne in the Indian Medical Register maintained under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) 5 A Pharmacy graduate selected for appointment to the post shall be required to get himself registered under the Pharmacy Act, 1948 before joining the post, unless he has already so registered. best of luck ..!!!! |

Dear friend,
The DI examination is generally a State Service under the Health & Family Welfare Department ,conducted by Orissa Public Service Commission(OPSC) ,Maharashtra Public Service Commission(MPSC)as well as Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) etc..... Qualification: 1: you should have a Bachelor degree in Pharmacy(B.Pharm) or Pharmaceutical Sciences of Medicine in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology from a recognized University or its equivalent 2:You should have minimum eighteen months’ experience in manufacture. 3:you age should be between 21yr-35yr for general candidates. 3yr relaxation for OBC and 5yr relaxation for SC/ST candidates. 4:You should be Indian citizen 5:You will be selected on the basis of Written examination and Viva Voce a) The written examination will consist of two papers. The examination in Pharmacy(core subject) will be in Paper-I consisting of 200 marks. i have completed m.sc in pharmaceutical medicine which is a clinical research related coure. our course is conducted in 2yrs. the course is conducted by muhs ,nashik.course contains clinical research,pharmcovigilace,GMP,GLP,CIOMS, CDSCO,CPSEA GUIDLINES,ANATOMY ,PHYSIOLOGY AND MANY MORE. my basic qualification is B.H.M.S.so m i eligible for this exam plz reply. my email.address is [email protected]

For drug inspector you have to be a b pharma from a PCI recognized college.
Exam for drug inspector are conducted every year. For appearing the exams go through details of UPSC exam. Visit the official site of UPSC: www.upsc.gov.in and i am sure that will help you a lot. Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) conducts various Recruitment Exams every year.The application form can be downloaded from the official website of MPSC and can buy from designated Post Offices. APPSC Drugs Inspector Entrance Examination is conducted by Andhra Pradesh Public Service commission. The application form can be obtained from the APPSC official website and designated Post Offices |
