The Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) course is a graduate level program available in pharmacy. Without this degree, one wont be possible to register themselves as pharmacists.

The pharmacy course consists of six streams of study. Those are:

  • Biological Fate of Drugs
  • Data Analysis in Pharmacy
  • Dosage Form Design
  • Drug Discovery
  • Quality Use of Medication
  • Social and Professional Aspects of Pharmacy

The eligibility needed for a person to join this 4 year program is a pass in an admission test that is held at the state or national levels. More than 50 percent marks in class 12 are needed for students who aspire to attend this examination. They must have accomplished their studies in the science stream. Those students who have done their Diploma in Pharmacy course can join the second year of the B.Pharm course by way of lateral entry scheme.

Many Indian colleges of the private and public sectors offer students with the graduate level programs in pharmacy. Before they join these colleges, aspirants need to ensure whether these institutions have an approval from the All Indian Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and/or the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).

Career opportunities available after B.Pharm

The career opportunities available for students of B.Pharm are quite high within our country. Many fields are available for students to begin their career. A few of those fields comprise of:

Career opportunities are available for students with the health departments of hospitals of the public sector. There, students are given training with regard to the approval as well as regulation of new drugs and pharmaceutical products.
