Is there any upper age limit for IBPS examination?


Sir, I'm 32 years old now. Can I apply for IBPS examination? Or, is there any other exams for securing jobs in government banks? If yes, then kindly brief me about all such exams.

IBPS refers to Institute of Banking Personnel Selection and it is a body that conducts different bank examination for recruitment of personnel at various posts across various nationalized banks of India.

In general IBPS conducts examinations for recruitment as a bank clerk, bank PO (Probationary Officer), and bank SO ( Specialist Officer ) and the maximum age limit for recruitment at above mentioned posts are 28 years, 30 years, and 30 years respectively for candidates belonging to general category. Upper age limit relaxation is allowed for candidates belonging to reserved category candidates.

So, being 32 years old candidate, you are eligible to apply for any of the above mentioned bank examinations, only if you belong to reserved category.

The acronym IBPS stands for Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection. There is upper age limit for candidates of different category.

Open category: 28 years for clerk and 30 years for PO.

OBC candidates: 31 years for clerk and 33 years for PO.

SC/ST: 33 years for clerk and 35 years for PO post.

You are not eligible to appear for IBPS Clerk and PO recruitment examination.

The upper age limit for these examination is 30 years with relaxation in upper age limit for reserved category.

So, if you belong to reserved category then you are eligible to appear for the examination.

You are eligible to appear for Specialist officer recruitment examination if have bachelor or master degree. For more information visit at www.ibps.in or www.sbi.co.in.

Yes, there is upper age limit of 30 years in IBPS Exam. So, the candidate who are born between 02/08/1998 and 01/08/1998 (including both dates) are eligible for IBPS Exam.

Following relaxation is offered to reserved category candidates:
  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • PwD: 10 years

Other Bank exams include:
  • SBI PO
  • ICICI PO, etc.

IBPS is examination conducting agency for clerk and Probationary officer of various public sector banks.

1. There is upper age limit for IBPS examination. It is 28 years for Clerk and 30 years for Probationary officer.

2. The upper age limit is relaxed by three years for OBC and five years for SC/ST candidates.

Yes, there is upper age limit for Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection Common Written examination for Clerk and Probationary officer. The upper age limit for IBPS exam for clerical post is 28 years and that for Probationary officer is 30 years.

The upper age limit is relaxed by three years for OBC and five years for SC/ST candidates.
