VAO Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

## For this exam a secondary school leaving certificate is required to give this examination. If you have higher qualifications but not the SSLC certificate then you would be considered ineligible to give this exam.

## Your posting will be done in any one of the village of Tamilnadu so you need to be proficient in Tamil language. You should know how to read and write in this language.

## Those who dont know Tamil can still apply for the VAO exam provided on getting selected they clears the Tamil exam which is conducted by TNPSC within two years from the date of selection.

## Physically fit candidates should apply for this exam. Medical certificates needs to be produced in front of the authorities concerned to prove medical fitness.

## You need to attain the age of 21 before giving this exam. For general category candidates the upper age limit is 30 years.

## For SC/ SC (Arunthathiyars), STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs, BCM and Destitute Widows of all castes the upper age limit is 40 years.

VAO Exam Selection Procedure and Exam Pattern:-

The selection procedure depends on the following parameters:-

• Written Examination
• The district chosen by the candidate
• The number of reservations in the district chosen by the candidate.

In the exam there will be two papers. While the first paper is compulsory, the second paper is optional. From each paper 100 questions will come and 150 marks each have been allotted to each paper. In the exam ninety marks needs to be secured to qualify to the next stage of selection. Questions will be mainly of SSLC standard.

Pay-Scale:-

After the recruitment is done, the candidates will get Rs. 5,200 -20,200 /- with grade pay Rs. 2,400/- as basic remunerations in initial stages.
