This is a highly competitive world and you need to perform to the best of your abilities to be successful. Having backlogs is an issue. Make sure you clear them at the earliest and with good marks. Its will be easier for you to find a job if you have a good score.

hi...
if your percentage will be below 60% at the time of interview then you wont be eligible to apply for most of the companies, how ever having back logs is an draw back some times ,but it depends from company to company, like some times some companies do not allow any arrears ,but some companies allow arrears , all the best |

Re: Is it true that with backlogs in first year chances of getting jobs are less?
i don't think it is true. i personally know so many friends who had backlog in first year but they are doing job in leading company like TCS etc.
if you are able to clear your backlog in second year then there is no problem. but you should not have more than one backlog and you have to clear backlog in the next year positively. if you get backlog in third year then you will face a big problem. because with backlog you can not apply for job. but in first year one backlog is no problem. but it is true that you must have minimum of 60% marks throughout your career to join in good leading company. you may get backlog but you have to clear it overall 60% marks in that semester. i don't think you will get backlog but by chance if you get backlog try to give your best in the next year. clear your backlog with overall more than 60% marks. best wishes. |

Re: Is it true that with backlogs in first year chances of getting jobs are less?
no it's completely wrong because backlogs in first year is not a big issue .for you kind information i want to inform you that you will face problem in getting a job,if you have backlogs in third or fourth year because these years of education contain your branch paper and are really important for you.
also try to obtain more than 60% because in this highly competitive environment allmost all companies need atleast 60% aggregate in your b.tech. try to clear your backlogs as soon as possible.good luck |

Good afternoon ,
Dear student According to me it is not true that with backlogs in first year chances of getting jobs are less because the companies which comes for college recruitement looks the overall pecentage . They are not concerned about you backlogs or any failure. So, no need to be panic and study for further exams. ALL THE BEST.......... |

There is also get affect the backlogs in the B.tech for any semester for getting jobs in completing the B.tech degree.
Some companies are the circular that the no Backlogs in any semester of B.tech. So, try to complete B.tech with no Backlogs. |

Actually rule is that when you are sitting for a campus interview that time you have to produce fresh result,no current backlogs allowed.
If you are able to produce clear result then nothing to worry about it,forget the past results and what happened. |

Re: Is it true that with backlogs in first year chances of getting jobs are less?
Know, my friend, that jobs and placements are increasingly becoming less dependent on academic performance in previous years, and more on aptitude. Backlogs do not mean that you cannot get good jobs, there are many companies in India and abroad that choose candidates only on the basis of the answers they give in their selection tests. If the selectors are convinced about your current performance, there is little chance that they will look at your records. I recommend the book "How do you move Mount Fuji", to know the selectors' mindsets in conducting tough interviews.

Re: Is it true that with backlogs in first year chances of getting jobs are less?
hi!
Yes, it is true that if you have backlogs you might face problem in getting a good job. Many companies coming for campus recruitment like TCS, infosys, IBM etc. require at least 60% throughout the applicant’s educational life. They further require that the candidate must not have any backlogs. But don't worry, there are companies which require less than 60% (mostly 50% or 55%) as a cut off for appearing in campus recruitment and accept candidates with backlogs. |

you are having very good percentage ,if you maintain the same through out then i think there would be no problem for you in getting job on campus,
but yes there are some companies who don't take students with back logs even once , hence better avoid it all the best |

Re: Is it true that with backlogs in first year chances of getting jobs are less?
hello,
Getting back paper is somewhat problem for the campus interview but if you can clear all the back papers at the end of 6th semester as campus interview stars from 3rd year, you have very good chance to sit for it having fulfilled the criteria given by them(companies). prepare well for the interview!! Al the best!! |

Quote:
if 1 door is closed then other are still open if you do have any back then do not worry about it ...clear it the very next time ... you should also give GATE exam after Btech because many good companies also give job according to the score in GATE. Experience and training from good company also act like a ladder to success.. may you get the best |
