this is to inform you that UGC bans the mphil and phd in english ,commerce etc in 2009 through distance mode. still some universities and institutes provides the same .so if you are interested than do it at your own risk and keeping in mind that it is of no use in the jobs related to UGC.some of them are-

2. Acharya nagarjuna university centre for distance education

Which are the universities that give admission to PHD with 50% marks in MA Eng

I have MA English in distance mode I want PHD recognised by UGC for asstt. professsor help me.

Please somebody tell me whether the PhD in English(ELT) which I have enrolled in Acharya Nagarjuna University through distance mode is recognised or not and will it make a person eligible for government jobs. Because I got my topic approval letter and I started my research work. Its takes lot of time and effort we cut our expenses and pay the fee and even can't spend quality time for our kids as you know I am not able to spend good time with my daughter. I am nade to balance between my family, job and study.
Why does the government give approval to start a course and cancels it at a later stage. It's a very heart breaking activity.

As per UGC guidelines, one should not do M.Phil and Ph.D. through distance mode. Those degrees are not valid for employment. Remember. But you can do part time courses if you are an employed person in the recognised universities.
