What is the age criteria for 1st standard in CBSE affiliated schools in Karnataka?
My daughter's DOB is 1st January, 2015. She is in LKG now. What is the age criteria for 1st standard in CBSE affiliated schools in Karnataka? Can I upgrade her to UKG or 1st standard would be a better option?

Re: What is the age criteria for 1st standard in CBSE affiliated schools in Karnataka?
As per the CBSE norms, minimum age of student should be at least 5 years for getting admission to 1st standard in any state. While upper age limit is fixed as 7 years.
Since, your daughter's DOB is 1st January, 2015 so if you are planning to admit her in 1st standard next year then it won't be possible. Because, in next year her age would 4 years. So, you must wait for 1 year for her admission to 1st standard. Currently, she is in LKG. So, next year she will be in UKG. In 2020, when she will be 5 years old, then she can get admission in 1st standard. |
