what is the age limit for sudents preparing fo ips..Could u pleae give me the details

Bachelor’s degree holders in any subject can apply for IPS post. Age of the applicant must be between 21 and 30 years. Relaxation in age is offered for reserved category candidates. OBC candidates can have 3 year age relaxation where as SC/ST can have at most 5 year age reduction. Within the specific age limit, one can attend the exam at most 4 times.

You need to be a graduate for this examination ,if you are final year of graduation then also you can give the examinations.

The no of attempts is also dependent upon the category to which you belong:

Age Limit For IPS

Its the Civil Services Exam which is conducted by UPSC for selection of IPS Officers..

The minimum requirements which you should fulfill before sitting for the Civil Services Exam are as follows :-

>> your age should not be less than 21 years..

>> if you are a general candidate then your upper age limit should be 30 years..

>> for OBC candidates there is an age relaxation of 3 years hence the upper age limit is of 33 years..

>> for SC/ST the upper age limit is 35 years..

>> you should have completed your graduation from a recognized college by the time you sit for the Civil Services Exam..

>> category wise allotment of maximum attempts is as follows
> General candidates - 4
> OBC candidates - 7
> SC/ST candidates - No limit

You can start your preparations from the time you enter your graduation..

You must be clear in your mind as to which subjects you want to select as your optional subjects for the Mains Exam..

But before you appear for the Mains Exam..you need to clear the CSAT(Civil Services Aptitude Test) which is also known as the Prelims..

There shall be 2 objective papers in the Prelims where you will be tested on your aptitude skills and general awareness..
