What are the chances of getting promoted to 2nd semester without attempting 1st semester exams?

Hi, I'm B.Com Honors 1st year student. I'm have not attended my 1st semester classes due to some reason and did not gave my 1st semester exam. Can I go to the 2nd semester? Or, will I have to repeat my 1st semester?
