An NRI student is one who has completed five years of study, including his 11th and 12th grades, abroad. He is also ineligible for entrance tests under the normal category if the student studies till class 10 abroad and his class*11 and 12*in India.

Re: What is the criteria for NRI and Norman category for a student studing abroad?
One who has finished five years of education, including his 11th and 12th grades abroad, is referred to as an NRI student. If a student completes their ninth grade abroad and their twelfth and thirteenth grades in India, they are also disqualified for entrance exams under the normal category.
