What is the difference between Environmental economic and traditional economics

Environmental economics is focused on the neoclassical paradigm but emphasizes negative externalities like pollution and ecosystem loss. Whereas, Traditional Economics is limited to studying the concepts, principles, and theoretical aspects of economic issues.

Environmental economics is a subfield of economics that examines the relationship between human economic activity and the environment. It seeks to understand the economic aspects of environmental problems and to develop and evaluate policies to address them. It takes into account the environmental costs and benefits of human activities, and it uses economic tools to help decision-makers understand the trade-offs between economic development and environmental protection.

Traditional economics, on the other hand, focuses on the allocation of scarce resources among alternative uses. It is concerned with how societies use resources to produce goods and services and how these goods and services are distributed among individuals. Traditional economics does not necessarily take into account the environmental costs of economic activities, and it does not prioritize environmental protection over economic development.

In essence, the difference between environmental economics and traditional economics is that the former recognizes the importance of the environment in economic decision-making, whereas the latter primarily focuses on maximizing economic growth and efficiency.
