Please tell me about the duration of Army Soldier Technical training? Does Army School in Dehradun conducts this technical training? What is the duration there?

As per the official information, the duration of Soldier Technical training for Indian Army is 9 months.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. The candidate should have passed 12th class with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English from a recognized board.

2. The minimum age of the candidate should be 17 1/2 and the upper age of the candidate should not be greater than 23 years.

After selection based Marit, selected candidates have to go through training period of 9 months. First 6 months of training period will be same as other trade. After completion of this 6 months, candidates will get 1 month off and after that have to go under another 3 months training period which is regarding technical trade. During this 9 months training period, candidates will get stipend. After completion of 9 months training period, candidates will be considered as regular soldiers and get regular salary per month.

- Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
- Medical Test
- Common Entrance Test (CET)

Final selection will be made on the basis of written entrance exam only.

The duration of basic training depends on the type of entry. Certain basic entries and there basic training duration is :

1) General duty jawan:9 months
2) Technical soldiers :5 months

Training in the Indian army is their respective command's responsibility.
