What is the educational requirement for appearing in Drug Inspector exam?


I have D-Pharma and a holds a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry. Am I eligible to apply for Drug Inspector exam this year? If yes, please share the exam pattern and syllabus details.

Yes, as per the eligibility criteria you are eligible to appear for UPSC Drug Inspector Exam.

Exam Pattern :

- Paper will be of 250 marks. 200 marks for Pharmacy paper and 50 marks for General Knowledge.

- Duration of the examination will be of 3 hours. 2 hours for Paper - I and 1 hour for Paper II

- After clearing written examination you will be called for interview.

Syllabus (as per UPSC) :

For Paper I

- Medical Chemistry; Forensic Pharmacy; Pharmacognesy; Manufacturing Opharmacy; Pharmaceutical Analysis; Pharmacilogy & Toxicology etc

For Paper II

- Basic knowledge of current events, History, Political Science, Geography, Economics etc

Yes, you are eligible to appear for Drug Inspector examination.

The examination is conducted by PSC for recruitment. The required qualification to appear for examination is that:-

Candidate must have passed bachelor degree from a recognized university.

The discipline must be Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biology etc.

So, you can prepare for entrance examination as per syllabus. You can get syllabus at official website of respective state PSC.

To be a drug inspector, candidate must hold a degree in pharmacy of pharmacutical Sciences on medicine with specialisation in clinical Pharmacology or microbiology from University established in India by law.
Age limit should be in between 21 to 32 years.
So, you have to follow the above eligibility criteria.

SSC conducts requirement for the post of Drug Inspector.

Eligibility criteria:

Degree in Pharmacy or medicine in clinical pharmacology or microbiologist or equivalent from a recognized board.

Age should be between 18 - 30 years.

Exam Pattern:

There are two papers in this exam, having objective type questions.

General Studies and Mental Ability.

One Subject.

Eligibility Criteria for Drug Inspector:

The candidate should be citizen of India.

You must be qualified and possess a degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Science or Medicine with specialization in clinical pharmacology or microbiology from an University or any college established in India.

Age limit: 18-36 years.

Yes, bachelor degree in chemistry is sufficient to appear in Drug Inspector examination.

So, you can appear in examination and after qualifying in entrance examination will become eligible for recruitment.

The age limit is different for different state. So, for syllabus and notification about examination visit at official website for detail information.
