Now, I am pursuing Electronics & Communication Engineering. Am I eligible for Indian Police Service exams? Can I attempt the exam being in final year or I need to qualify my engineering first? What is the syllabus pattern? How should I start preparing from now?

Civil Service examination is conducted for recruitment as an I.P.S officer.

The eligibility to appear for examination is that:-

Candidate must have passed bachelor degree from a recognized university. Candidate pursuing in final year are eligible to apply for examination.

Candidate's age must be between 21-32 years with relaxation in upper age limit.

So, if you are pursuing in the final year, you are eligible to apply for examination in 2018.

Yes, you can appear for IPS exam even in final year of your graduation.

For qualifying exam, you will have to pass three stages i.e.

• Preliminary Exam
• Main Exam
• Personal Interview

Preliminary Exam contains two subjects paper that are compulsory for everyone.

The age limit is 21-32 years with relaxation in upper age limit for reserved category.

The examination is conducted in three stage is Preliminary, Mains and Interview. The syllabus contains question of General Studies, Science, Current Affairs etc.
