Re: What is the eligibility to get admission in engineering in India?
Pass in XII class is the basic qualification required for engineering degree. Science students are only eligible to have admission. More over such students should have studied mathematics as an optional subject. Admission criteria are based on entrance test conducted on all India basis or at state level. Details on such exams can be collected from the web portal of the authority that carry out the exam.

Re: What is the eligibility to get admission in engineering in India?
There are basically two ways to get admission for Engineering in India. The first way is through entrance exams. Till this year there were several entrance exams including:
AIEEE IIT-JEE However from next year both these exams would be scrapped and replaced by a single exam called ISEET. The ISEET is expected to replace all the existing entrance exams for Engineering in the country. Although there is some opposition by states to use ISEET. While some are against the exam others want at least couple of years to use it. Therefore you can either appear for ISEET entrance exam or some state level entrance exams. Now to appear for ISEET you will need to meet this criteria: 1. A minimum of 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as the subjects. 2. At least 40 percent marks in 12th board. The first criteria is same for all the other state level exams as well. While the percentage criteria could change from state to state. Some state exams would like 50 percent marks for General while 40 for SC/ST candidates. The other way of getting admission for Engineering is through lateral entry. For admission via this scheme you will have to complete either B.Sc or diploma in Engineering after 10th standard. After which you can get admission via lateral entry. Most of the colleges would grant admission except IITs. The admission process varies from college to college. Some would give admission on merit while others would want you to appear for LEET entrance exam or some other entrance exam. In both case you need at least 60 percent marks either in diploma in Engineering or B.Sc course. There are some colleges which will also give admission if candidate has scored 50 percent marks. |

Re: What is the eligibility to get admission in engineering in India?
Bachelor of Technology, abbreviated as B Tech is an undergraduate degree conferred on a student on a completion of four year course of engineering studies. But to get admission in an engineering college in India, you need to fulfill the eligibility criteria and clear the engineering entrance examinations. There are several engineering entrance examinations in India 2012 viz; IIT JEE, AIEEE, DCE, BITSAT, UPSEE, SCRA etc. It's mandatory for a candidate to appear in an entrance examination, either concerning to the institute or at national or state level. Subsequently, the shortlisted candidates get the call to attend the personal counseling session on the basis of their scores in the engineering entrance examination, and thereafter they are allotted the engineering college and the branch. The admission process in B Tech 2012 is almost similar in most of the colleges. Though, some details vary from one institute to another and from one entrance exam to another.
Eligibilty criteria The general eligibility criteria for B Tech admission in India 2012 is specified below: The candidate should have passed 10+2 or an equivalent from a recognized board/ University. Those candidates who are appearing in 10+2 or an equivalent can also apply in AIEEE provisionally, if it will be completed by the time of counselling. The upper age limit for the candidate is 25 but in case of SC/ST/PH candidates , the upper age is relaxed by 5 years. |

Re: What is the eligibility to get admission in engineering in India?
For getting admission into Engineering courses you have to pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
Those who have done Diploma in Engineering can get admission into 2nd year of Engineering Graduation through lateral entry scheme. You have to appear for JEE to get admission into top Engineering colleges. Those who get a top rank will be eligible to get admission into the best engineering colleges. The JEE will have objective type questions related to Physics, Chemistry and Maths. There will be negative marks for wrong answer so you have to be careful in attempting the answers. Some of the top Engineering colleges in India are listed below: -Indian Institute of Technology IIT - Kharagpur -Indian Institute of Technology IIT - Kanpur -Indian Institute of Technology IIT - Mumbai -Indian Institute of Technology IIT - Delhi -Indian Institute of Technology IIT - Chennai -BITS - Pilani -Indian Institute of Technology IIT - Roorkee -Indian Institute of Technology IIT - Guwahati -IT-BHU -College of Engg, Anna University -Indian School of Mines University -BIT, Mesra -Jadavpur University , Faculty of Engg & Tech - Calcutta -PSG College of Technology - Coimbatore -Delhi College of Engineering |

Re: What is the eligibility to get admission in engineering in India?
Hai aspirant
To get admission in engineering course you must have completed 12th with Non Medical(Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) in Science Stream. After qualifying in the 12th,you need to write the engineering entrance exams like: -->IIT-JEE -->AIEEE -->VITEEE -->BITSAT -->SRMEEE -->EAMCET These entrance exams will be conducted by the corresponding universities/institutions for admission into the engineering. If you have qualified in the entrance exam, then you will be eligible to get admission into the engineering course. There are no extra eligiblity conditions required to get a admission into the engineering.Depending upon your entrance exam you will get a admission into the engineering colleges. Thank You |
