What is the eligibility for girl for CDS exam?
I have recently appeared in my 12th board examination and now wants to qualify CDS exams. Please tell the eligibility and requirements for appearing in this exam. And also the physical and medical requirements.

CDS Educational Qualifications : 1. For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy : Degree of a recognized University or equivalent. 2. For Indian Naval Academy : Degree in Engineering for CDSE and Degree in Engineering or B.Sc. ( with Physics or Mathematics ) for NCC entry. 3. For Air Force Academy : Degree of recognized University ( with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level ) or Bachelor of Engineering. Graduates with first choice as Army / Navy / Air Force are to submit proof of graduation provisional certificates on the date of commencement of the SSB Interview at the SSB. Candidates who are studying in the final year Degree course and have yet to pass the final year degree examination can also apply but they will be required to submit proof of passing the degree examination to reach the Army HQ / Rtg. CDSE Entry, West Block III, R K Puram, New Delhi – 110 066 in case of IMA / SSC first choice candidates and Naval HQ “DMPR” ( OI. & R Section ), Room No. 204, ‘C’ Wing, Sena Bhawan, New Delhi – 110011 in case of Navy first choice candidates and PO3 (A) / Air Headquarters, ‘J’ Block, Room No. 17, Opp. Vayu Bhawan, Motilal Nehru Marg, New Delhi-110011 in case of Air Force first choice candidates by the following dates failing which their candidature will stand cancelled : (i) For admission to IMA, Naval and Air Force Academy on or before 13th November, 2012. (ii) For admission to Officer’s Training Academy, Chennai on or before 1st February, 2013. Candidates possessing professional and technical qualifications which are recognized by government as equivalent to professional and technical degrees would also be eligible for admission to the examination. In exceptional cases the Commission may treat a candidate, who does not possess any of the qualifications prescribed in this rule as educationally qualified provided that he possesses qualifications, the standard of which in the opinion of the Commission, justifies his admission to the examination. Note I : Candidates, who have yet to pass their degree examination will be eligible only if they are studying in the final year of degree examination. Those candidates who have yet to qualify in the final year Degree Examination and are allowed to appear in the UPSC Examination should note that this is only a special concession given to them. They are required to submit proof of passing the Degree examination by the prescribed date and no request for extending this date will be entertained on the grounds of late conduct of basic qualifying University Examination, delay in declaration of results or any other ground whatsoever. Note II : Candidates who are debarred by the Ministry of Defence from holding any type of commission in the Defence Services shall not be eligible for admission to the examination and if admitted, their candidature will be cancelled. Note III : In the event of Air Force candidates being suspended from Flying Training for failure to learn flying, they would be absorbed in the Navigation / Administration / Logistic Branch of the IAF. This will be subject to availability of vacancies and fulfilling the laid down qualitative requirements ( including 60% in graduation ). |

you are doing 12th class yet so you are not eligible for exam. you can apply for exam as per experience but you rank will not be count for a job

Combind Defence Service Sorry to say you are not eligible for CDS exam. To appear in CDS exam you will have to complete Graduate degree. UPSC conduct the CDS exam every year two time for IMA,Navel Academy, Air force academy,OTA. Age limit- for IMA - 19 to 24 for Navel Academy- 19 to 22 for Air force academy- 19 to 23 for OTA -19 to 25 Educational Qualification- I.For I.M.A. and Officers Training Academy-- Aspirant should be graduate degree from recognized University. II.For Naval Academy-- Aspirant should be B.Sc.(with Physics & Mathematics) or Bachelor of Engineering. III.For Air Force Academy-- Aspirant should be graduate degree from Recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering. Physical Standards- You must be physically fit for Combined Defence Services. |

CDS - COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE conducted by UPSC twice every year as CDS-I and CDS-II for entry in to Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officer's Training Academy of CDS.
Girls are only eligible to apply for Indian Officer's Training Academy(OTA) of CDS. The candidate must be an unmarried Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 24 years of age with good Physical and Mental health. CDS is Combined Defense Service. The examination is conducted for the admission of the candidates into the 3 wings of defense.

Yes, Definitely Girls are eligible to apply for CDS Examination, But for this you have to complete your Graduate degree course in any Discipline from a recognised University.

The "Combined Defence Services" Examination is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment into the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy. The Notification for the examination is usually released in the months of October and June, and the examinations are conducted in February and November respectively. Only unmarried graduates are eligible to sit for the exam. Successful candidates are admitted into the respective Academies after an interview conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB). Eligibility Criteria For Indian Military Academy/Officers' Training Academy:- Degree from a recognized university or equivalent For Naval Academy:- B.Sc. with Physics & Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering For Air Force Academy:- Degree of a recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering Age Limit Indian Military Academy 19-24 years Air Force Academy 19-23 years Naval Academy 19-22 years Officers’ Training Academy 19-25 years (not before 2 June) For more details www.upsc.gov.in Thanks... |

Girls are definitely eligible for CDS examination but they must have following qualifications.
-Graduates in any discipline from a recognised university . For Air Force and Navy Graduation should be in Engineering or Physics or Maths. -Age required for CDS examination is as follows: Air Force Academy- 19 to 23 years. Naval Academy- 19 to 22 years. Indian Military Academy- 19 to 24 years. Officers Training Academy- 19 to 25 years. If you have above then you can apply for CDS examination. There will be Objective Type Paper, SSB and Medical Examination that you have to pass in order to get entry into the Defence. So start preparing for CDS examination if you really want to become an Defence officer. For medical fitness standards please download the attachment. |

Since you are completed intermediate examination then you are not eligible to apply for the CDS Examination . To apply for the CDS Examination , you need to completed your graduation after completing graduation you are eligible to apply.
CDS Examination is conducted two times in a year by UPSC . This examination is conducted for admission into Army , Navy , Air force and Officer Training Academy Examination . Being a girl you are not eligible to apply for the Army , Navy and Air force selection but you are eligible to apply for the Officer Training Academy Examination . Eligibility Criteria for Officer Training Academy :: -Graduate degree in any recognized University . -Age should have a minimum 19 years and maximum 25 years . -No relaxation for reserved categories . -No percentage bar . -Final year candidates are eligible to apply.
