What is the eligibility for MCA regular?
my son has completed bca from mysore university. he has done his 12th without maths. can he get admission in mca from ip university?

For admission to the MCA course certain eligibility criterias need to be fulfilled. Out of this the most important is that the candidate shouldbe a graduate. Along with that they need to have pursued mathematics in 12th standard. If any candidate has not pursued mathematics in 12th but has pursued the same in graduation then they will eligible for the course. So if you have pursued mathematics ineither 12th standard or graduation youwill be eligible for admission. Most institutes keep a minimum requirement of 50 to 55%. You need tocheck the same in the university that you plan to apply. After the entrance exam round, you need to go in for the interview round. You will be called for this round only if you clear the entrance exam. You check the details in the notification of the entrance exam that you plan to take.

The general eligibility criteria for Indian students:
Candidates who have completed their BCA, BBA or B. Tech can apply for an MCA course. Candidates who have done their graduation in science can also apply for this course as these candidates must have studies Mathematics as a subject in their 10+2. There is no age limit regarding the admission to this course. Academic Eligibility Criteria: Candidates should have a graduation degree with more than 60 per cent marks and they need to write an entrance exam in order to get admission to an MCA course. |

Yes, you are eligible for admission to MCA. Those who have studied mathematics as a subject either at 12th or graduation are eligible. Those having completed graduation with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks can apply. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University conducts a common entrance test for admission. University carry out a centralized counseling process for candidates qualified in entrance test.

Hello,
MCA stands for Master of computer applications The educatonal Qualification required for the admission of MCA is : A candidate must have a BCA / B.Sc / B.com / B.A degree with Maths as one of the subject at 10+2 level or at Graduation level Since your son has completed BCA ,so he had Maths subject at Graduation level . So he can get admission for MCA , provided he passes the entrance exam for MCA. |

If you have completed BCA then you are definitely eligible for MCA course.
Most of the Universities ask for Graduation with maths with 50% marks for MCA course. You have done MCA so don't worry and apply for MCA entrance examination. If you score top marks then you will be eligible for admission into top colleges. Also make sure that you have got 50% or above marks in BCA because most of the Universities ask for this percentage criteria before giving admission. Mysore University is a recognized University so you are definitely eligible for MCA from IP University.
