Banking sector is one of the first few industries to have embraced Information
Technology (IT) when IT was still in a nascent stage. The reason was simple – the banking process needs management of data on a huge scale and on diverse fields for maintaining customer accounts and every-day financial transactions. To retain existing customers and to gain new ones, every bank is vying with one another to give the best customer services through net banking, ATM, C RM, ERP etc.
Therefore demand for Bank IT officers have increased in the recent times.

I had similar query regarding profile of an i.t officer..but sir..so is there no coding work involved as in development of softwares etc..who does software development in banks..??or is it housed from software companies??

To work in the Bank as IT Officer, at least, you must have the skills that meet or equivalent to CompTIA A & N .
After that you can jump up to upper level.
