Dear friend,
The eyesight requirement for Indian Army as a officer is 6/6.If you do not have that you can take help of LASIK surgery to gain that. Anyway you can join army after 12th or Graduation.To join after 12th age requirement is 16.5 to 19 and for to join after Graduation age requirement is 21-30. |

Indian Army as a officer To join ARMY you need to appear for the NDA exam or for the CDSE exam.If you want to join the ARMY after passing you class 12th then you can appear for the NDA exam which is conducted by the UPSC twice a year .To be eligibility for the NDA exam you must have passed class 12th in any streams and you should be between 16.5 to 19 years of age . But if you wanted to join after your graduation then you can apply for the CDSE exam.which is conducted by the UPSC twice a year .The eligibility criteria for the CDSE is you must have completed your graduation in any streams and you should be between 19 to 24 years of age . The Physical requirement in both the exam is same which is as follows :: Minimum Height: Army - 157.5Cms, Navy - 157.5 Cms, Air Force (Pilot) - 162.5Cms. Eye Sight: Distant vision 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6. Near vision N-5 each eye, Myopia: Not more than 2.5 D Hypermetropia: Not more than 3.5 D Weight: Appropriate weight as per age and height (chart available with SKYLINE) Chest : Minimum 5 CMS full expansion on inhalation |

Physical Standards
ImagePhysical fitness is one of the most important prerequisites for joining the Air Force. Irrespective of the branch you are applying for, you must fulfil some basic physical standards. Listed below are some guidelines that identify the general physical requirements that are common for all candidates. You must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease/ disability, which is likely to interfere with efficient performance of duties. There should be no evidence of weak constitution, bodily defects or overweight. Your chest should be well developed. The minimum range of expansion after full inspiration should be 5 cm. There should be no disease of bones and joints of the body. You should be free of any past history of mental breakdown or fits. Your hearing should be normal without any evidence of present or past disease of the ear, nose and throat. There should be no sign of functional or organic disease of the heart and blood vessels. Your blood pressure should also be normal. The muscles of the abdomen should be well developed without any enlargement of the liver or spleen. Any evidence of disease of internal organs of the abdomen can be a cause for rejection. An un-operated hernia can make you unfit for selection. If operated, this should have been done at least six months prior to the present examination and healing should be complete without any potential for recurrence. There should be no hydrocele, varicocele or piles. If operated for hydrocele and/or varicocele, this should have been done at least six months prior to the present examination and healing should be complete without any recurrence. Urine examination will be done and any abnormality, if detected, can be a cause for rejection. Any disease of the skin, which is likely to cause disability or disfigurement, will also be a cause for rejection. Vision will be tested. You must have good binocular vision. In case you have undergone or are detected to have undergone Radial Keratotomy, or any other procedure to improve the visual acuity, you will be permanently rejected. You should have sufficient number of natural and sound teeth. A minimum of 14 dental points will be acceptable. When 32 teeth are present, the total dental points are 22. You should not be suffering from severe pyorrhoea. The following are conditions pertaining to women that will entail rejection for all Air Force Duties: Acute or chronic pelvic infection Severe menorrhagia Severe dysmenorrhea Complete prolapse of uterus Pregnancy/ Amenorrhea Any other gynaecological condition, if so considered by the specialist. It may be noted that the Air Force Medical Board is the final authority while deciding the medical fitness for joining the Indian Air Force. |

Eligibility to join indian army: • first and foremost requirement to join indian army is that one should be an indian citizen. • one should be at least 18 years and above to serve in any post of indian army. • the education qualification to join any indian army commission should be minimum of 10+2 which later includes graduation, post graduation and more. i hve -4.25 in my left eye..
nd -4.12 in my righgt. i hve cleared ssb and givn TR.. i m told 2 appear for d review medical board aftr 42 days.. wat r my possibilties for selection?? nd laser surgery is nt permitted.. wat shud i do?? pls suggest |
