Re: What I have to do after 10th to become a commercial pilot?
The real training of becoming commercial pilot actually starts after completing 12th standard. However your subjects should be Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Since you have completed 10th, please obtain the Student’s Pilot Licence.
Becoming commercial pilot is a good profession that pays well. Despite the fact that Indian aviation industry is going through turmoil, you can seriously consider becoming commercial pilot. However you should remember one important thing. Becoming commercial pilot is very expensive. You will easily have to shelve out more than 15 Lakh rupee. Before I write down the procedure, please take a look at eligibility criteria and ensure you meet all the requirements if wish to become commercial pilot. Eligibility 1. Must have completed 12th with PCM subjects. 2. Minimum of 50 percent marks in 12th standard. 3. Age limit is 18 to 30 years. Physical Requirements 1. Your height should be mnimum of 5 feet. 2. 6/6 vision is required to become pilot. 3. Vision is only correctable through glasses only. 4. You should not have fear of heights. Procedure Student’s Pilot Licence - You can apply for this licence soon after completing 10th. There isn't any flying involved in obtaining this licence. A basic mathematics test on various aspects of the aircraft is all that you need to clear to obtain the licence. You will have to score 75 percent marks in the test to clear it. Private Pilot Licence - The real training will start when you will apply for the Private Pilot Licence. You can only do that after completing 12th. Before you can obtain the licence, a instructor will teach you to fly the plane. You will gain experience of 40 hours of flying with instructor and 20 hours of solo flying. Once the flying lessons are over, you must clear a written test to obtain Private Pilot Licence. Commercial Pilot Licence - Finally you will be able to apply for commercial licence after which you can apply for pilot job in airlines. You will have to gain 250 hours of flying experience to get Commercial Pilot Licence. It will be followed by series of written tests related to Air Regulations, Aviation Meteorology, Air Navigation etc. The final step would be to clear medical test conducted by a team of doctors by DGCA. |
