IAS exam is conducted by UPSC in once time in year through Civil Service Exam.So you can prepare well for CSAT Exam.
Those candidate have completed graduation degree or final year of graduation degree from recognized board are applicable for IAS exam. But your age should be in between 21 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide only for SC/ST/OBC category as per govt rule. To sit for this exam you need to be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.
Your age should be between 21-30 years. Selection procedure includes preliminary exams, main examination followed by interview. To know more about the question pattern go through the papers attached over here. Hope this helps |

IAS stands for Indian Admimistrative Service...of Government of India..So IAS officers hold key positions in the Union Government, State governments and Public Sector Undertakings... Well who can appear this examination of IAS? Let me say you.. * you must possess a degree from an Indian University or an educational institution deemed as a University or possess an equivalent qualification. *if you are in the final year of a degree course can also appear in the Preliminary Examination. * And the main criteria is that you must be a citizen of India.. Coming to the optional subjects:There were many optional subjects in IAS Exam..they were mentioned as follows: * Agriculture * Animal Husbandry * Veterinary Science * Botany * Chemistry * Civil Engineering * Commerce * Accountancy * Economics * Electrical Engineering * Geography * History * Law * Management * Mathematics * Mechanical Engineering * Medical Science * Philosophy * Physics * Political Science * and International Relations * Psychology * Public Administration * Sociology * Statistics * Zoology. Each paper is of 3hours duration. Dear the questions may be asked from the general social studies and the current affairs..so you must well grip on the evn higher school social studies syllabus..But i can tell you the following combinations of questions were not allowed: * Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration * Commerce and Management * Anthropology and Sociology * Maths and Statistics * Agriculture and Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science * Management and Public Administration * Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science and Medical Science * Any two branches of engineering.
