What is the maximum age limit to join the Indian Air Force? Is there any relaxation for SC and OBC category candidates? Apart from age what are educational requirements?

To join Indian Air Force through CDS examination after completion of your graduation course, the maximum age limit is 24 years and for joining Indian Air Force through NDA examination after completion of your 12th standard, the maximum age limit is 19.5 years. No age relaxation is provided to reserved category candidates for joining in Indian Air Force.

To Join Indian Airforce, you have to apply in the NDA exams.

Eligibilty to apply for NDA is:
Only unmarried male candidates can apply for NDA exams. Female candidates cannot apply
Education- For army wing 12th pass in any stream
For Airforce and navy wing- 12th pass with physics and mathematics

Age-The age range for NDA 1 2018 is from 2nd July 1999 to 2nd July 2002

Next NDA exams which is conducted UPSC will be held on 22nd April 2018
Notification for the NDA exams would come out on 10th jan 2018 and last date to apply is 5th feb 2018

There is no special relaxation in age limit for recruitment of SC/ST candidates in defence service.

If you want to get recruitment as an officer in Air Force, you can appear for CDS or AFCAT. The age limit for CDS is 19-23 years and for AFCAT it is 19-26 years.

So, if you satisfy the age criteria and have passed bachelor degree with Mathematics and Physics upto 12th std, then, you are eligible to appear in examination.

As far as you are concerned about the maximum age limit for joining Indian Air force then it varies with the varying entries for joining Indian Air force.

For joining as an officer through NDA ( National Defense Academy ) your age need tlie within 16.5 years to 19.5 years where as through CDS ( Combined Defense Services ) it needs to lie within 19 years to 23 years. Further, for joining as an officer through AFCAT ( Air force Common Admission Test ) your age need to lie within 20 years to 24 years for the flying branch where as for ground duty it must be within 20 years to 26 years.

Apart from officer's entry, for joining as an airman your age need to lie within 17 years to 21 years.

There is no provision of any type of relaxation for any reserved category candidates.

If you want to get enrolled in airforce want to get enrollment as an officer in Air Force, you can appear for CDS or AFCAT examination. As far as possible for CDS is 19-23 years and for AFCAT it is 19-26 years.
