Being a commerce graduate you are eligible to join the accounts branch of Indian Air Force. The minimum percentage of marks required the B.Com program to be considered eligible is 60%. As far as age limit is concerned the minimum eligible age is 20 year and the maximum age limit is 23 years. Recruitment is done on the basis of performance of the candidate in the Air Force Common Admission Test conducted by Air Force Selection Board two times a year. The notification of the test is published in the month of June and December.

How to know and where to apply for the common admission test, please tell me the applying procedure & syllabus in the test and cost of application form

Hello Sir,
For joining Indian Air Force you should have following things:-
1. Having 10+2 (Science) qualification with Physics and Maths
2. Age limit 19-25.
3. Indian nationality
4. graduate from science field from any recognized university
5. marital status should be non married

Sir since you are doing b.com you can apply for IAF if you have done 10+2 from science field. And you can apply for AIF till the age of 23.

You can join Indian Air Force after B.Com. through AFCAT.

AFCAT - Air Force Common Admission Test conducted by Indian Air Force for selection of officers for Technical H+Branch, Flying Branch and Ground Duty Branch.

The eligible candidate must be an unmarried Indian male having completed Graduation in any stream with 60% marks from a recognised University within the age of 20 to 23 years with good Physical Fitness can apply for AFCAT Ground Duty officer of Indian Air Force.

There are two ways to join indian airforce one is CDS(Combined Defence Service) exam and the second one is AFCAT(Airforce Common Admission Test) exams.

The candidates should be complete graduation in any stream from a recognised university.

No need of percentage restrictions to apply this exam.

The candidate must be an indian origin.

Male and female both are eligible for this exam.

The candidate must be physically fit.


The age limits for Airforce academy is 19 to 23 years.

No upper age relaxation.

Yes you can join the Indian Air Force if your age is 21 years and you are currently in 3rd year of B.Com.

The way through which you can join Indian Air Force is Combined Defense Services Examination.

You can join in Indian Air Force by two sources by either giving the entrance exam of AFCAT or CDS exam.

If you apply for any of the exam and get good marks in the written examination, then you can get into air force.

The competition is huge and you need to get good marks to get into the field.

You can join Indian Air Force Ground Duty Branch through AFCAT if you want to join Indian Air Force.

Educational Qualification for AFCAT:

This exam is conducted for Flying Branch, Technical Branch and Ground Duty Branch in Air Force.

For Ground Duty Branch you need Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University. As you are commerce student you will be eligible for Accounts Cadre.

Age Limit :

Your age should be between 19 to 23 years if you are applying for Accounts Cadre of Ground Duty Branch.

Examination Pattern:

The selection will be based on the written examination, SSB and Medical Examination.

Selection process involved in Air Force is quite strict and elaborate. You can join Air Force either as an Officer or as an Airman.

As an Officer cadre you have following options-

*Flying Branch
*Ground Duty Branch
*Technical Branch

As an Airman cadre you have opportunities in both - technical and non-technical trade fields.


As you have mentioned you have done your 12th and pursuing B.Com 3rd year you can do either of the two things-
> Apply for Flying branch which requires intermediate as educational qualification
or
> Wait until you complete your graduation in order to be eligible to apply in any of the above mentioned branches.

- To apply as Airman applicant must be 10th pass so you can also apply for the same.

To join indian airforce after passing your B.COM you can apply for the AFCAT exams

AFCAT exams are held for both the Flying Branch as well as the Ground Duty Branches

Eligibilty for the Flying Branch is:

Your age should be between 19-25 years.
You should be Indian.
You should have also completed graduation from the recognized university with no backlog.
You marital status should be single.

Selection is conducted in three phases:-
