IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service


A candidate must have completed their graduation Degree in any Discipline with atlest 55% from recognise universities.

Final year students are also applicable.


Age Limit:
  • General category student:- 21-30 years.
  • OBC relaxation in upper age +3 years.
  • SC/ST relaxation in upper age +5 years.

IAS Exam notification is already over for this year because Last date of Receipt of Application by post is 04.03.2013 .So you can wait for one year more .

Hi Friend.................

IAS means Indian Administrative Services and is basically meant for those aspiring candidates who have strong dedication towards the country.

India holds a UPSC examination every year and on the basis of this examination a number of IAS officers are recruitment.

Eligibility Criteria :-

A.)Educational Qualification:-

The minimum qualification required for appearing the competitive examination is Graduation. Many professionals like Engineers, Doctors, persons with Ph.d qualifications are competing for UPSC.


B.)Age Factor:-

1.> For general category :-

21-30 years and can attempt 4 times.

2.>For SC/ST :-

21-35 years ,and there is no limitation .

3.> For the OBC:-

21-33 years and can attempt 7 times.


Paper Pattern for IAS exam :-

1) General-Studies paper carries 150 marks

2) Optional paper carries 150 marks.

Instead of one compulsory paper of General Studies and one Optional paper, both the papers shall be compulsory.

IAS means Indian Administrative Service. The entrance exam for IAS is called Civil Services Examination. The role of IAS officer is to implement government policies and ensure that public funds are being utilized properly.

The qualification criteria for IAS entrance exam is graduation degree. Having completed any bachelor course makes you eligible to appear for the Civil Services Examination.

Therefore once you have completed graduation, it would be possible for you to apply for the Indian Administrative Service. However you must have completed graduation from a recognized college. Otherwise Union Public Service Commission which conducts the Civil Services Examination will not allow you to appear for the IAS entrance exam.

Please check the criteria below and see whether you are eligible for the IAS entrance exam or not.


Eligibility

1. Nationality: Only Indian nationals are selected for IAS.

2. Education: UPSC will accept any bachelor degree.

3. Marks: No criteria has been set for minimum marks in graduation.

4. Age Criteria: Candidate who is between 21 to 30 years is eligible.

5. Relaxation: Following the govt guidelines, UPSC gives 3 years relaxation to OBC.

6. Relaxation: The UPSC offers 5 years relaxation for SC and ST.

7. Physical Requirements: There are none for IAS.


Selection Procedure

1. Preliminary Exam

There are 2 written tests with the goal to score enough marks to appear for next stage. The marks scored in preliminary will not be added to your final tally.

2. Main Exam

The real test will begin with Main Exam. You will have to give 9 written tests which will form the final score for you. It will include 4 papers in 2 optional subjects.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service and to become an IAS officer, one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam, conducted by UPSC one every year.

The minimum qualification for IAS, Civil Service Exam is Graduation Degree in any stream.

Apart from this the eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.

The selection is through three phases:-

CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test - Preliminary Exam

-Civil Service Main Exam

-Personal Interview

One has to crack these three stage of exam successfully in order to become an IAS.

There are only 4 attempts for General category For OBC 7 attempt limit and for SC/ST no attempt limit.....

Candidates should be a citizen of India....

The candidate must hold a degree of any of
Universities incorporated by an Act of the
Central or State Legislature in India or other
educational institutions established by an
Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed
as a University Under Section-3 of the University
Grants Commission Act, 1956, or
possess an equivalent qualification.
NOTE I :
Candidates who have appeared at an examination
the passing of which would render
them educationally qualified for the
Commission’s examination but have not
been informed of the results as also the
candidates who intend to appear at such a
qualifying examination will also be eligible
for admission to the Preliminary Examination.
All candidates who are declared qualified
by the Commission for taking the Civil
Services (Main) Examination will be required
to produce proof of passing the requisite
examination with their application for
the Main Examination failing which such
candidates will not be admitted to the Main
Examination. The applications for the Main
Examination will be called sometime in the
month of July/August, 2011.

IAS Exam i.e. Indian Administrative ExamIAS exams are conducted by UPSC every year.

Minimum qualification required to appear for IAS exams is Graduation from a recognized university.


Age limit: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs.

Number of Attempts:
Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.

How to apply:
•Apply online by using the website http://www.upsconline.nic.in
•Apply offline by purchasing the application form from designated post offices throughout the country.
