If you wish to give the SBI PO Exam then the following eligibility criteria needs to be satisfied for that:-

For the post of probationary officers only graduates can apply. It does not matters what stream you choose at graduation level but the degree needs to be a valid one from a recognized university.

To apply for this exam your age should not be lower than 21 years. This is binding on all categories. But the upper age limit differs from one category to the other:-
  • General Category:- 30 years
  • SC/ST Category:- 35 years
  • OBC Category:- 33 years
The selection procedure of the SBI PO Examination consists of three successive stages:-

SBI PO Exam Pattern:-

SBI PO mainly consists of 5 sections.They are as follows:

1)General Awareness section consists of 50 Question and total marks alloted were 50 marks.

2)English Language section consists 50 Question and total marks alloted were 50 marks.

3)Quantitative Aptitude section consists 50 Question and total marks alloted were 50 marks.

4)Computer Knowledge section consists 50 Question and total marks alloted were 50 marks.

5)Reasoning Ability section consists 50 Question and total marks alloted were 50 marks.

After objective section you will have to attempt the descriptive paper compulsorily.

Descriptive paper on English Language - 50 questions for 50 marks.

Total Marks for objective will be considered for 200 over all and descriptive for 50 marks. So, totally marks will be 250 only.

For objective paper total time alloted is 120 Minute and
60 minutes time for the Descriptive paper
so, total time duration is 3 hours.

he selection procedure will be based on three stages:

Phase-I: The written test consists of two kinds of test. Those are objective test and descriptive test. The objective test will be held for 200 marks with 2 hours duration. The objective test consists of 4 sections.

English language - 50 marks
General awareness, Marketing and computers - 50 marks
Data analysis and interpretation - 50 marks
Reasoning - 50 marks

The candidates will get pass when they get pass mark in each section of objective test. The pass mark will be decided by the bank.

The Descriptive test will be held for 50 marks with one hour to test the English language. In this test candidates need to write comprehension, short precis, letter writing and essay for a given topic.

SBI PO Exam Pattern:

-The examination will have one Objective type paper and a descriptive paper in English writing skills.

-Objective paper will be of 2 hours duration and will have questions related to Data Interpretation, General Awareness, Computer Awareness, English Skills and Reasoning Skills. You have to pass in every section and also pass overall cut off then only you will be called for interview.

-Descriptive paper will be in English precise writing .The questions will be related to letter writing, essay writing, reading comprehension and paragraph writing. This paper will be of 1 hours duration and this paper will be evaluated only when you pass the objective type paper.

-There will be 1/4 negative mark for every wrong answer.

So be prepared for SBI PO by concentrating on above subjects.

Number of Attempts for SBI PO:

General - 4 attempts

OBC - 7 attempts

SC/ST - can apply till the age limit exceeds

Also remember that you must have Graduation qualification and your age should be between 21 to 30 years. Age relaxation is available for following categories.

OBC - 3 years

SC/ST - 5 years

PWD - 10 years

SBI P.O means State Bank of India Probationary officer.SBI conducts its own entrance exam for the post of clerk and probationary officer other IBPS entrance exam.

Some of the essential requirement to be eligible for the P.O exam:

The State Bank Of India [SBI] conducts its own banking examinations every year for the clerical as well as PO posts like the IBPS which conducts common written examinations for the same posts for 19 public sector banks excluding the State Bank Of India.

The Essential Requisites for the SBI PO Exam are :


** The candidate must have completed graduation in any discipline from any recognized college/university.

** The candidate should not have any pending backlog.

** As per the latest amendments , candidates pursuing graduation in final year cannot apply.

** The age of the candidate if belonging to General Category must lie in between 21-30 years.

** A relaxation of 3 years in upper age is granted to OBC Candidates whereas SC/ST Candidates are granted a relaxation of 5 years in upper age.

The SBI Conducts the PO Exam in the following phases :

Dear There,

SBI conducts P.O. examination every year for recruiting Probationary Officers in SBI banks.

The Eligibility a candidate must hold are as follows :

* Candidate must be Graduate in any discipline from any recognized college / university with minimum qualifying marks (45%).

* Age must be in between 21-30 years for general category candidates. OBC candidates are allowed to apply at the age of 33 years whereas SC/ST candidates are allowed at the age of 35 years as per the Govt. quota rule.

The Examination is conducted in three phages and candidates are needed to prepare well :

i) Written Examination

ii) Group Discussion

iii) Personal Interview
