To become an I.A.S Officer, you have to appear and qualify in Civil Service examination.

The eligibility to appear for the examination is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognised university. The age limit is 21-32 years.

So, you have to pursue std 12th and than bachelor degree to become eligible to appear for the examination. For more information about the examination visit at www.upsc.gov.in.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service and to be an IAS officer, you are required to qualify the Civil Services examination which is held by UPSC once every year.

Further, the minimum education required for appearing in the Civil Services examination and therefore for becoming an IAS officer is a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university.

So, being a Class 12th passed candidate, you are required to first complete your graduation degree in any subject of your interest.

For complete details regarding the pattern of the Civil Services examination, you can refer to the link www.upsc.gov.in.

It is not possible to become an IAS Officer right after completing 12th standard! In order to become an IAS Officer, you must apply for CSE exam conducted by the UPSC. You must also crack the exam (preliminary, mains and interview) in order to get selected for the training.
