Re: What is the scope of Forensic Science?
Here Iam providing answer for you:
Forensic science (often shortened to forensics) is the application of a broad spectrum of sciences to answer questions of interest to a legal system. Forensic Science is essentially a crime laboratory-based profession, the course qualifies students to apply their knowledge of science to the investigation of crime. But the expertise of a forensic professional is also used in civil cases for issues like proving the validity of a signature on a will, to a claim of the products liability, to find out whether an industry is complying with environmental rules. Mostly, forensic science expert works with police department legal agencies and investigative agencies. Apart from these departments, such experts could also join private detective agencies. State forensic department recruits forensic professionals through public service commission. A forensic expert could find job in various branches of this field, for eg. forensic anthropology, forensic archeology etc. As far as government agencies are concerned, a forensic expert could join IB, CBI, police force in their crime cell, forensic lab etc. To join the CBI team, situated in delhi, you may appear for UPSC exam and be part of the team. |

Re: What is the scope of Forensic Science?
Forensics science do not have good prospective for job purpose as oppertunities are very few in this field. Employment with law enforcement agencies, police, legal system and in the investigative services of the government and also private agencies, work as teachers in institutes that conduct courses in this subject.
In Forensic Science Studies, you will gain first-hand experience investigating simulated crime scenes and collecting evidence. You will learn about the biological, chemical and physical aspects of forensic science – for example, analyzing and examining DNA, trace chemical evidence and firearm markings. Proper scientific methodology will be emphasized as you learn the latest investigative techniques to collect, manage and examine evidence on site and in the lab. Depending on where you are in your career path, you can either pursue a credential or take individual courses for professional development purposes. |
