What is the standard cut-off for doing PhD from any university?

Hi, I have secured 47 percent marks in Post Graduation degree from Sardar Patel University. So, am I eligible to do PhD now? Is this 47% score enough to get admission in any university for PhD? Do I also need to write any entrance examination?

A candidate should score a minimum of 55% aggregate in PG to become eligible for pursuing M.Phil or for Ph.D. entrance in any university. Also, the candidates who had scored less than 55% are not even eligible for UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, ASRB-NET, etc competitive exams if at all they want to pursue a career in Academics.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
