Sir I am in 7th semester of B.E. in Mechanical engineering. My aggregate is 71% and CPI is 7.95, so will I be able 2 get a good job in core companies? suggest me some companies for which i should apply....

Dear Friend,

Core companies for Mechanical Engineering graduates after completing the courses are as follows: -

1. SAIL

2. GAIL

3. NMDC

4. BALCO

5. TATA Automobile Industry

6. Tata steel & Power Limited

7. Jindal Steel & Power Limited

8. ONGC etc.

For the above industries exam pass out & final year students are eligible with minimum 65 % Marks from a regonised university.

Hence 7th semester students are not eligible.

your marks are only a initial obstruction after that only your talent and skills play a major role.
so you need to develop your skills.For that you can go for the In plant training where you can gain more practical knowledge as all the companies require practical knowledge.IF you have these skills then they will select you giving a good pay for you.All the best

it is really a good decision to work in core companies.
Some of the core companies for us are like

->BHEL
->HAL
->ISRO
->DRDO
->ECIL
->NTPC
->KPCL

etc ., etc.,
you have enough percentage to get job in core companies. but to get job in Core companies along with your percentage you should have great core subject knowledge in depth.

In this december Core companies will come up to take interviews for the good candidates.
also if you want to get job in core companies along with your academic studies you have to register for GATE Entrance exam and prove their with some good scores and rank.

then they will directly consider for jobs in their companies.
I think you know the news about BHEL, This year the recruitment of Engineer trainee is based upon GATE score. They are giving 75% of weightage of GATE entrance exam marks only.

So you can understand in which range the competition will be for this exam. You have to have very good subject knowledge to survive in the core companies without this we can't promise you a great career in the early stages of your career.

you have a 71% marks in your engineering subject . The interviewer will atleast expect 50% subject knowledge of your academic
so keep this in mind and aim these core company jobs.

You need to put up a nice performance in GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) and score a good percentile and your percentage should be well above 60% throughout your career and your knowledge of the core subjects will be mainly tested in the interview..

yes u can get jobs in good companies with this cgpa like maruti & in other good companies. from which college you are doing your b.tech ? iscompanies coe in their college?
