Will I be able to qualify for NET exam with these marks?

NET stands for National Eligibility test and this examination is conducted by UGC, twice in a year for the post of Lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship Post.

This year all three papers of NET is Objective, with no negative marking. The examination was already completed. You have to scored minimum passing marks in each one of the papers individually.

In Paper-I, you have to scored minimum 40% marks, In Paper-II, also you have to scored minimum 40% Marks.

In Paper-III, you have to scored minimum 50% marks.

These are the minimum passing criteria, If you have scored minimum marks then your chances will be there to cracked NET.

This year Exam is objective may be the result will be published on the basis of Merit. So please wait for the result, the result will be Published soon, when the result published it will be updated in the official website.

Friend,
As per my knowledge you are eligible to take the NET exam with that percentage of marks.

NET stands for National Eligibility Test conducted by UGC every year for lectureship and junior research fellowship.

For junior research fellowship the age of the candidates must not be more than 28 years.
For Lectureship there is no upper limit for the age of the candidates.

This year has already completed and since all the questions were objective type there was no negative marking. You need to get passing marks in every paper:
Paper I- minimum 40%
Paper II- minimum 40%
Paper III- minimum 50%.


Wait for the result to come out.

NET Stands for National Eligibility Test conducted by UGC twice in year.

Eligibility And Criteria:
  • A candidate must have completed their Post Graduate Degree with at least 55% from Recognized Universities. there are Relaxation Available for SC/ST category.
  • No Age Limit for Applying NET.

You have score minimum require marks so, yes, you are eligible for NET exam so, Apply for it and crack it.

ELIGIBILITY

UGC states Three conditions for NET exam eligibility:
1. You must have 55% marks in PG level ( since you have got first class)
2. Your university/College must be a recognized one ( pl.check out)
3. Your age limit should be not more than 28 years

NET exams are conducted Twice each year, in June and in December


Qualification Criteria for NET exam
The candidates must have completed Post Graduation in the desired subject.
They must have secured Master’s Degree with a minimum of 55% from any reputed college under UGC recognition.
The candidates appearing for last semester exam can even attend NET exam.
Thirty Five years is the maximum age limit.
There is relaxation of 3 years OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Application Procedure for NET exam
The candidates have to apply online before the specific date announced by UGC. print outs of filled in online application form, exam attendance slip and admission card at the respective centers (with fee receipt and category certificate(s) are the documents required for applying to this exam.

The National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research.
The tests are conducted twice in a year generally in the months of June and December. For candidates who desire to pursue research, the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) is available for five years subject to fulfilment of certain conditions.
The JRFs are awarded to the meritorious candidates from among the candidates qualifying for eligibility for lectureship in the NET. JRFs are available only to the candidates who opt for it in their application forms.

Eligibility Criteria for National Eligibility Test (NET) 2012 June

Educational Qualification
Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ ST/ PH/ VH) (without rounding off) in Master's Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/ institutions recognised by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this Test.
Final year candidates can also apply. Such candidates must complete their PG degree examination within two years from the date of NET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.
The PhD degree holders whose Master's level examination had been completed by 19 September 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (ie, from 55% to 50%) for appearing in NET.
Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only. The candidates, whose post-graduation subject is not covered in the list of subjects, may appear in a related subject.
Candidates with post-graduate diploma/certificate course(s), should in their own interest, ascertain the equivalence of their course(s) with Master's degree of recognized Indian universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. (www.aiuweb.org )
Age Limit (as on 1 June 2012)
Lectureship NET: Minimum 19 years, no upper age limit
JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) NET: Minimum 19 years; maximum 28 years
