Friend,
Yes you will get job in few IT companies and core technical companies whose eligibility criteria is not 60% . Go and search for these IT companies. Best way to find such job is to register on some websites for job seekers. GOOD LUCK With Regards, ~Manvendra~ |

Re: Will I get a government job after scoring 55% in B.Tech ECE?
Yes there are many government job option for you.
Most of the PSUs eligibility criteria is to have a minimum marks percentage of 60% in his graduation level. But you can definitely apply for jobs in Bank, UPSC exams, Railway etc. Some of the PSUs only consider the graduation degree from any recognized university and the GATE rank. So work hard and get a good GATE rank after your graduation that will be helpful to you. |

Re: Will I get a government job after scoring 55% in B.Tech ECE?
The best option is to apply for the Indian Engineering Service (IES). You are eligible for this exam and since jobs offered through this are considered very reputed, you should definitely apply for the entrance exam.
Indian Engineering Service is conducted by Union Public Service Commission. There are jobs offered in various government departments. Depending of the Engineering stream you can get in departments that are related to telecommunication, defence manufacturing, railway, roads etc. Electronics and Communication Engineers are eligible for jobs in the following government deparments: 1 Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers 2 Indian Navy 3 Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (EME) 4 Indian Telecommunication Service 5 Indian Ordnance Factories Service (IOFS) 6 Indian Inspection Service 7 Wireless Planning and Co-ordination Wing 8 Indian Railway Stores Service 9 Indian Supply Service (Directorate General of Supply and Disposals) 10 Indian Naval Armament Service There are very few jobs that are offered every year. Around 600+ jobs are offered but generally it depends on the vacancy. Some seats are reserved for the OBC and SC/ST. Eligibility 1. Nationality: Indian and Nepali citizen, Subject of Bhutan. 2. Qualification: B.E. or B.Tech degree from recognized college. 3. Marks: There is no minimum requirement. 4. Lower Age: 21 is set as lower age by UPSC. 5. Upper Age: 30 years is the limit. 6. Age Relaxation: 3 years in upper limit for OBC. 7. Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC and ST. |

Re: Will I get a government job after scoring 55% in B.Tech ECE?
I am sorry to say but i don't think you might be able to get a job in he government sector. This is because Government Engineering Companies now recruit candidates on the basis of the marks scored in GATE Exam and they have the basic eligibility criteria that the candidate must have secured at-least 60% aggregate marks in B-Tech.
However, you may fully apply for the jobs in the private sector as there are many companies that have the eligibility criteria of 50%. All the Best |
