HELP Regarding higher studies after M.tech in RS and GIS

Myself Bikram (B.tech in ECE) got selected for M.Tech in Remote Sensing and GIS form IIRS (www.iirs.gov.in). But I am facing some problem regarding choosing it because I know very little about its prospectus for higher studies(like PhD) after doing M.tech in RS an GIS. I have some questions as follows..

1. Can I do PhD in Electronics And Communication (or other departments)after doing M.tech in RS and GIS?
2. Which institutes in India provide opportunity for PhD in RS and GIS?
3. What is the criteria for admission to PhD programs(are there any exams we need to qualify like GATE,NET,JRF)?

Any other suggestion or help from your side is highly appreciated.

Dont do m.tech. remote sensing or GIS course, because after Completion of course u will get job but salary very less and dont expect higher salary with experiance at same time work pressor high and work also not sutable for m.tech. students that work can do dimploma holder and even 12th sudents , work is only Maps Digitization. if m.tech. student goes jrf means it is also a problem because that job is temparory.
