im 3rd yr mechanical engineering student. I wanted to know career after mtech in industry.And which institute is better to go there for mtech as per placement point of view. Is mtech in production technology is effective?

M.Tech in any field gives you upperhand as you have specialized course in that field.
After M.Tech you can join all the firms which a b.tech can join but at a higher post. Early future promotion is also given to candidates having M. Tech degree.

You should appear for GATE which is held every year on 2nd sunday of February. Forms are available in october and novermber for next year GATE exam

On scoring very good marks, you can get admitted to IITs and NIT. IITs and NITs provide good placement.
