PWD stands for Public Work Department.

Eligibility Criteria for applying for PWD examination in Bihar for Civil Engineers :

Educational Qualification : Candidate must have Diploma in Civil from any recognized university.

Age limit : Age of candidate must be from 21 to 30 years. Age relaxation is also provided as per government norms. Age relaxxation is as follows :

• For OBC candidates : 3 years
• For SC/ST candidates : 5 years
• For ex-service men : 10 years
• For Physically Handicapped : 10 years

Selection Procedure :

• Written Exam
• Interview

Candidate short-listed in written exam will be called for Interview. After passing interview there will be small medical test.

• Surveying, Estimating Costing & Field Engineering
• Transportation Engineering
• Theory of structures and strength of materials
• Structural Analysis
• Soil mechanics and foundation engineering.
• Design of R.C.C and Masonry structures
• Design of steel structures
• Rural water supply and sanitation
• Basic Computer Application
