How can I become an IPS officer after completing graduation? What are the physical requirements for IPS post?
Respected Sir, I am pursuing FYBFM and after completing it I want to become an IPS officer. I want to know the whole procedure that I should follow to become an IPS officer. What are the physical requirements for the same? Please answer as soon as possible.

The graduates in any discipline are eligible for the IPS Officer post. They have to clear the Civil Service Examinations conducted by the UPSC. The civil service examination has three divisions. They are Preliminary Examinations, Main Examination and Interview. The maximum age limit for applying to the examination will be 32 years for General candidates, 35 years for OBC and 37 years for SC and ST candidates. You have to first clear the preliminary examination to qualify for the main examinations. The examinations are conducted once a year. The Physical requirements for IPS officer will be height: Male 165 cm, Chest: 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm and Eyesight: 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. The UPSC website link is Click Here |
