Hi, I want to become a Collector or IPS officer. I want to know that how much height required to become Collector or IPS officer. Hope I would be eligible for this. Thanks

Height required only for IPS officer post. Collector post doesn't require any height criteria.

Physical fitness criteria for IPS exam:-

Height

For Men : 165 cm(AROUND)
For Women :150 cm(AROUND)

OBC /SC/ST :

Male:160 cm and female :145 cm

Chest

Male candidates-84 (+ 5cm).

Female candidates-79cm(+ 5cm).

Eye Sight

For Worse Eye :6/12 or 6/9 distant vision
For good Eye :6/6 or 6/9 distant vision

The Physical requirements for IPS Officer;

Height: Male 165 cm
Chest: 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
Eyesight: 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye

For IAS post (Collector) there is no height requirement needed. Those who clears the UPSC Civil Services is eligible for the post.

For IPS officer post height should be 165 cm, if you are a male candidate. There is relaxation available for candidates who are native of certain mountain ranges of India.

For females the minimum height required is 150 cm. Selection will be on the basis of written exam and interview and also medical fitness test.

The minimum height to be an I.P.S Officer is :-

Male :- 165 cm.

Female :- 150 cm.

There is relaxation in height for reserved category candidates.

But, there is no height limit to be an I.A.S Officer. For more information visit at www.upsc.gov.in.
