What is the differences between TIER-I and TIER-II of SSC CGL?
Hello, I missed TIER-II of SSC CGL recruitment exam. I am graduate in Mathematics. But I will give TIER-I exam which will be held on summer. But, I don’t know the difference. So, I would like to know the differences between these two tiers of SSC CGL.

Differences between Tier 1 and Tier 2 of SSC CGL:
There is a huge difference between SSC CGL Tier 1 Examination and SSC CGL Tier 2 Examination. SSC CGL Tier 1 Examination is conducted for candidates whose applications are accepted and CGL Tier 2 Examination is conducted for candidates only those who have been qualified in Tier 1 Examination. There is a major difference in it's examination patterns and they are, >> In SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam - 4 subjects >> In SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam - Only 2 subjects SSC CGL Tier 1 Examination Pattern: * General Intelligence and Reasoning - 25 Questions - 50 Marks * Quantitative Aptitude - 25 Questions - 50 Marks * English Language - 25 Questions - 50 Marks * General Awareness - 25 Questions - 50 Marks Total composite time - 1 Hour SSC CGL Tier 2 Examination Pattern: Paper 1 - Quantitative Aptitude - 100 Questions - 200 Marks - 2 Hours Paper 2 - English language - 200 Questions - 200 Marks - 2 hours Above Paper 1 and Paper 2 are to be attempted by each and every candidate who has been qualified in Tier 1 Examination. Below Paper 3 and Paper 4 are just optional and these are to be given by specific candidates who have opted for concerned posts like Statistical Investigator..etc., Paper 3 - Statistics - 100 Questions - 200 Marks Paper 4 - a) Finance and Accounting - 40 Questions - 80 Marks b) Economics and Governance - 60 Questions - 120 Marks |

SSC CGL examination consist of four stages,
Tier I - Computer Based Mode comprising of 200 marks Objective Multiple Choice Type questions Tier II - Tier I qualifying candidates will be eligible for Tier II. There will be four paper of 800 marks. Each Paper will be for two hours. First two Papers are compulsory for all. Paper 3 is for the post of Statistical Investigator and paper 4 is for the post of Assistant Audit Officer. Tier III - the candidates who will qualify tier I and tier II will be eligible for tier III. It will be descriptive part of 100 marks. Tier IV - the candidates who will qualify tier I, tier II and tier III will be eligible for tier IV. This is a computer proficiency test. So, here from this details you will understand the complete selection process. |

SSC Conduct CGL - Combined Graduate Level Examination every year through online mode means both Tier - I and Tier - II examination is conducted through online computer based mode and you must know the difference between SSC CGL Tier I and II exam which is following :
Tier I Examination - There will be four following subjects in Tier I exam : 01. General Intelligence and Reasoning - 25 questions for 50 marks 02. General Awareness - 25 questions for 50 marks 03. Quantitative Aptitude - 25 questions for 50 marks 04. English Comprehension - 25 questions for 50 marks You will be given 60 minutes to complete this Tier I examination in which you have to qualify this Tier I exam then only you will be eligible to appear for Tier II of SSC CGL Exam. Pattern of SSC CGL Tier II exam : 01. Quantitative Ability - 100 questions for 200 marks 02. English Language and Comprehension - 200 questions for 200 marks 03. Statistics - 100 questions for 200 marks 04. General Studies and Finance and Economics - 100 questions for 200 marks Paper 3 and Paper 4 in Tier II will be for those candidates who choose with special stream otherwise only paper I and paper II will be for all common candidates qualifying Tier I of CGL exam. You will be given 120 minutes to solve both of these papers and if you quality in Tier II exam you will be eligible for further process which is either interview or computer based typing test. SSC CHSL is conducted for recruiting candidates based on their performance in the exam conducted in the form of tier -1 and tier -2. Let us see main difference between tier-1 and tier-2.
Tier-1: 1. This is a Preliminary exam. 2.Conducted to filter candidates. 3.Only those who qualify in tier-1 will be eligible for writting tier-2. 4. Level of exam is easy compared to tier-2. 5.Sections in exam includes : - Reasoning, - Maths, - GK - English 6.Number of questions is 25 per section. 7.Time allotted is 1 hour. Tier-2: 1.This is a Main's exam. 2.Conducted to filter candidates. 3.Only those who qualify in tier-2 will be eligible for attending interview based on merit. 4.Level of exam is high compared to tier-1. 5.Sections in exam includes : -->Maths, -->English 6.Number of questions is 100 per section. 7.Time allotted is 2 hours per section. Above discussed were differences between Tier-1 and Tier-2. |
