To be an IRS (Indian Revenue Service) Officer, you need to qualify the Civil Services examination held by UPSC once every year.

The syllabus for the same examination can be accessed from the official link of UPSC i.e; www.upsc.gov.in.

The selection process of the same examination comprises of three stages namely :

* Stage I) Preliminary Test.

* Stage II) Mains examination.

* Stage III) Personal Interview.

The syllabus of IRS is same as UPSC exam, IAS, IPS etc
The syllabus is exhaustive and one needs to micromanage accordingly.
The preparation for exam.can be done at home.
It can be cracked without coaching.

Exam pattern
Paper A
Compulsory English language

Paper B

General studies 1
General Studies 2
Genral Studies 3
General Studies 4
Paper 7 optional subject II

The introductory syllabus is designed for understanding of current affairs .
The main paper has 9 papers .
The preliminary and main paper is designed for written examination.
Those who clear both the papers are called for interview.
