IRS stands for Indian Revenue Services.

You can IRS through Civil Services Examination which is conducted by UPSC every year.

The CSE is conducted in two stages mainly.

1. Preliminary Examination
This is also called Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) and is common test
for all applicants.
This cotains questions from General studies(History, Geography,
Politics, Economics and social development, General Science) English
Mathematical Aptitude etc.

2. Main Exam and Interview
Those who qualify Preliminary exam are called for Main exam and
on the basis of marks in Main exam, candidates are called for
Interview. The total marks of Main exam and Interviw are sum up to
produce final result.

The Main examination will contain following papers
1. Essay type Indian Language Qualifying Paper (300 marks)
2. English Qualifying Paper (300 marks)
3. General Essay type paper (200 marks)
4. General Studies (Paper-I & II 300 marks each)
5. Optional subject-I(Paper-I & II 300 marks each)
6. Optional subject-II(Paper-I&II 300 marks each)


You can choose any two optional papers from the subjects named below.

Civil Engineering
Commerce and Accountancy
Economics
Electrical Engineering
Geography
Geology

Law
Management
Mathematics
Mechanical Engineering

But following combinations of two optional subjects are not permissible
- Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration;
- Commerce & Accountancy and Management;
- Anthropology and Sociology;
- Mathematics and Statistics;
- Agriculture and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science.
- Management and Public Administration;
- Any two engineering subjects
- Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science and Medical Science.

You should obtain the syllabus of these subjects from www.upsc.gov.in

Staff Selection Commission conducts a common entrance examination known as Combined Graduate Level Examination for recruitment of Income Tax Officer, Custom Officer, CBI Officer etc.



IRS stands for Indian Revenue Service.
Selection is through the Civil Services Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission through a three-stage combined selection process.

The first stage, the Civil Services Prelims is composed of two objective exams: one of General studies and one of a subject of one's choice amongst a given list of subjects.

Syllabus:

The examination contains the selection procedure which are to be followed for appearing to this examination and the examination contains...

Prelims contains the General Awareness and the Arithmetic part of study....

Communication skills
These are the examination pattern which are to be followed for appearing to the Income tax officer examination...


Educational qualification required:-You must be graduation pass out from any stream.

Age details:-You should have a minimum age of 18 years.
Percentage of marks required:-You should have a minimum of 50% marks in your graduation.


Other details related to this exam is as follows:-

Your graduation degree must be recognized from the state government or from the central government.
Your degree must be approved from the UGC.
You will be allowed to appear in this exam till the age of 28 years.

However age relaxations will be provided to you if you belongs from the reserved category candidates.
if you belongs from the obc category then you will get 3 years of age relaxations.
If you belongs from the sc/st category then you will get 5 years of age relaxations.

IRS stands for Indian Revenue Service and to become an IRS officer, one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical Fitness.

The slection is through three phases:-

CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test - Preliminary Exam comprises of objective type questions.

Civil Service Main Exam comprises of subjective type questions.
