Aeronautical engineering and aircraft maintenance engineering are both good career options in the aviation industry, but they have different focuses and responsibilities.

Aeronautical engineering involves the design, development, and maintenance of aircraft and spacecraft. Aeronautical engineers work on the aerodynamics, materials, propulsion, and structural design of aircraft. They also design and test new aircraft systems and components. Aeronautical engineers usually have a degree in aeronautical engineering or aerospace engineering, which typically takes four years to complete. The starting salary of an aeronautical engineer in India ranges from Rs. 4-6 lakhs per annum.

Aircraft maintenance engineering (AME) involves the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft. AMEs are responsible for ensuring that aircraft are safe and airworthy. They perform routine maintenance and inspections, troubleshoot problems, and replace faulty components. AMEs are required to have a license issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in India. The AME license is obtained after completing a three-year AME training program, passing the DGCA exams, and accumulating a certain amount of maintenance experience. The starting salary of an AME in India ranges from Rs. 3-5 lakhs per annum.

Both aeronautical engineering and AME have good career prospects, and the choice between the two depends on your interests and career goals. Aeronautical engineering may be a better fit for those who enjoy design and research work, while AME may be a better fit for those who enjoy hands-on work and problem-solving.
