One cannot predict the cutoff marks or the rank.

It depends on the following factors :

* The number of applications for the course.
* Demand of the course you want to pursue
* Number of seats offered.

But yes, you should give your best while preparing fr the examination, apply for whichever course you want and wait for the result.
After the result sit in the counselling and be optimistic.

All the Best

To get seat in NIT'S you have to qualify in the jee mains exam.the qualifying mark changes for different categories.the intermediate marks will also have a weightage.so,as you got more marks in ipe exams you can get seat in Nit's.

The previous year cutoff's for JEE mains are as follows:-

For OC candidates it is 105-115 marks,
For OBC candidates it is 70-75 marks,
For SC candidates it is 51-55 marks,
For ST candidates it is 45-50 marks.

Though you got 970 marks in your 12th standard as you have got only 95 marks in 'JEE MAINS' if you are other then OC category then only you will qualify the test though you qualify the test you may get rank above 2,00,000 which is a very large rank.

So the chances of getting seat in NIT is very difficult.If you belong to SC/ST category then you may have some hopes but if your from OBC category then you cannot get seat in NIT.
