Re: Does B.Sc honours have more scope than plain B.Sc? In which stream to do honours?
HI there the answer to your question is yes.Yes it is right that if you have a BSc honours degree it is much more valuable then BSc normal degree. But there is not much difference between these two degrees. Also both of these degrees that is BSc honours and normal BSc take equal time to complete. But in some countries it takes 1 year more to complete the BSc honours degree than the normal bsc degree.
Also a student has to write a dissertation after completing the BSc honours degree but after the normal bsc degree a student does not have to do this thing.A bsc honours degree is considered to be more valuable than a normal bsc degree it is also considered to be a more standard degree than a normal BSc also there is a thing that a student can get a BSc degree more easily than obtaining a normal BSc degree. Also if one wants a job a BSc honours degree is considered to be more beneficial than a BSc normal degree. The person with a BSc honours degree will be given first preference than a person with a normal BSc degree.Same is the case considered in case of higher studies.A person with BSc honours degree has a more chance to be admitted than a person with a normal BSc degree. But in case of ease the normal BSc degree is easier to obtain than a BSc honours degree. |

Re: Does B.Sc honours have more scope than plain B.Sc? In which stream to do honours?
Both B.sc and B.Sc(H) degree are given to the Undergraduate candidates.
However doing honours in B.Sc is considered to be more beneficial as compared to general B.sc. This is because when you opt for B.Sc(H) then it means you are doing specialisation in that particular subject. However in case of general B.Sc you can easily get the admission into the college and complete your degree. B.sc(H) is considered to be superior degree as compared to general B.sc. For e.g if two candidates one with B.sc(H) and other with general B.sc then candidate having done B.sc(H) will be given preference even if his marks are little less than the other candidate. If you complete B.Sc(H) then you can easily go for M.sc and PHD. |
