Dear friends, I am a student of 12th Science studying with NIOS Board. After completing my 12th I want to do BTech in Mechanical Engineering. Can you please let me know about that I am eligible to do BTech in this specialization or not?

In order to pursue B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, you should have completed your 12th standard with PCM/Biotechnology subjects with minimum 50% marks from a recognized board. Reserved category candidates will get marks relaxation 0f 5%. There are lots of engineering entrance examinations available for which you can apply. The admission is based upon the marks secured in the examination.

Candidates who have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects with at least 50% marks are eligible to apply for the admission to study BTech Mechanical Engineering course. The NIOS is one of the recognized boards in India. Therefore, candidates who have completed 12th from NIOS with PCM subjects with at least 50% marks are eligible to study BTech Mechanical Engineering. Candidates have to clear the entrance examination for the admission to study the BTech Mechanical Engineering course.

If you have studied PCM stream in your class 12th, then surely you will be eligible for engineering entrance exams. Admission in B.Tech will be based on performance in the entrance exam.

NIOS is a recognized way to complete schooling and you will be eligible for admission in B.Tech through entrance exam like JEE.
