To become a Game Developer, you need to know how to write a program and how to code it. To learn programming and coding, you need to opt for Computer Science Engineering (CSE) or Information Technology (IT) branch in Engineering course. By pursuing CSE or IT stream in Engineering course, you can learn programming, coding and how to develop a software. So, it is best to opt for CSE or IT stream in Engineering course to become a Game Developer.

Gaming requires lots of coding, you have to learn numerous language and computer coding. So, computer stream will be best for you. |

You should probably opt for B.Tech in CS in order to become a good game developer, but that's not enough. Along with it you will need many things in order to have a good and bright future in it.
You need to have a good knowldge of C, C++ and Visual Basic. You may even enroll in a programming school like NIIT, Aptech, etc. At Masters level you can have a degree in Visual Communication. You may also if you wish for your betterment opt for some courses in game design like; > Project Management > Integrated Video Design and Technology > Game Prototyping > Level Design, etc. |

The best engineering stream for game developers is 'Computer Science and Engineering'. You'll be introduced to basic programming concepts and there practical sessions. Also you would get opportunities to participate in hack-a-ton to create games and all in tech fests. Also learn some animation courses and android development since most simple games comes in android. For PC games you require more graphics and animation components.

There are different branches in Engineering such as-
*Computer Engineering. *Information Technology. *Electrical Engineering. *Electronics and communication. *Mechanical Engineering. *Civil Engineering. etc..... If you want to become a game developer then you must have a good knowledge of software as well as good command in programming which you will get in Computer Engineering.Beside doing computer engineering you have to do various courses to become a good game developer. |
