Default Re: Eligibility for Pilot Course Fee details and Training details

To become a commercial pilot, your son will have to complete the following requirements:

Age: He should be minimum 17 years old to apply for a student pilot license, but the minimum age requirement for a commercial pilot license is 18 years old.

Education: He should have completed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects or should have a degree in Engineering or Science from a recognized university.

Medical Fitness: He should have a medical fitness certificate from a certified medical examiner to prove his physical and mental fitness.

Pilot Training: He needs to obtain a Student Pilot License (SPL) and then a Private Pilot License (PPL) from a flying school recognized by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). After obtaining a PPL, he can then apply for a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) which requires additional training and flying hours.

The fee structure for pilot training varies depending on the flying school, location, and type of training. It can range from 20 lakhs to 40 lakhs or more.

Some of the popular flying schools in India are:

  • Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA), Uttar Pradesh
  • National Flying Training Institute (NFTI), Gondia
  • CAE Oxford Aviation Academy, Gondia
  • Bombay Flying Club, Mumbai
  • Madhya Pradesh Flying Club, Indore

To prepare for off-campus placement through consultancies or other organizations, your son can start by researching companies that offer such placements and their eligibility criteria. He can also prepare by networking with professionals in the aviation industry, attending job fairs, and practicing his interview skills. Additionally, he can enhance his knowledge and skills by reading industry publications and participating in relevant training programs.
