Is it beneficial to study PhD in Economics through correspondence?

Friends, I want to do research in Economics. For that I know that I have to do PhD. But I am working as a Professor in a private college. I have done my MPhil in Economics. I am thinking to do PhD in correspondence. But I am not sure that it will give me benefit or not. I want to know about this.

If you are already working, then doing Ph.D in correspondence will make any sense. If you are a fresher and not working, then you should never go for a distance mode Ph.D.

Hence, act according to your situation. Also, aim for admission at a reputed university, then only your Ph.D will have any value.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
