Is it beneficial to study PhD in Economics for M.Sc(Economics) candidate?


Sir,
I am doing M.Sc in Economics.
I want to do Government Service after
my M.Sc. But my parents are telling me
to do PhD in Economics.
Can you tell me I get any kind of benefit
if I do PhD?

If you want to enter academics or research field then you must opt for Ph.D Economics programme. Also, qualify exams like NET/GATE/SLET/JRF before getting admission in Ph.D program. Candidates with these scores have more chance of getting admission in a top university or institute. Hence, if you want to do Ph.D from a reputed institute then try your best to qualify any of these exams in your field.

Ph.D is mainly for those who are in academics as Lecturer and want to get promotion. Also, those who are into research field will benefit from this degree. Mainly you can enter field of research and development in your respective field.
