You have completed B.Tech(Mechanical Engineering) so you are not eligible for CSIR NET exam.

Details of CSIR NET exam is given below.

Those candidates who have completed masters degree from a recognized university are eligible for CSIR NET exam. General and OBC candidates should hold 55% and above marks in masters degree. For SC/ST candidate its 50% and above in masters degree.

Your age should be below 28 years.

You are certainly eligible to appear in NET (National Eligibility Test) conducted by CSIR. Candidates appearing in final year of qualifying degree are absolutely eligible to appear in CSIR NET Examination and candidates are supposed to submit their original certificates whenever asked by officials.

Educational Qualification Required:

>> Candidates holding BS-4 years program/ B.E/ B.Tech/ MBBS/ B.Pharm/ Integrated BS-MS/ M.Sc or B.Sc (Hons) or its equivalent qualification are eligible to appear in CSIR NET Exam.

>> Final year candidates are also eligible to appear in CSIR NET Examination.

>> Candidates with Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering or any other discipline will be eligible for fellowship only after getting registered or enrolled for Integrated Ph.D or Ph.D program with the validity period of two years.

If you have got at least 60% marks in your B.Tech degree from a recognized University then you are definitely eligible for CSIR NET. For reserved category candidates there is relaxation of 5% marks. Being a B.Tech degree holder you will be eligible for CSIR NET according to the notification released.

You have to choose Engineering sciences subject for the exam. Not only B.Tech holders but MBBS, B.Pharm and B.V.Sc graduates are also eligible for CSIR NET if they fulfill the percentage criteria.
