Eligibility criteria required to apply for UGC NET JRF 2023:

The basic eligibility criteria required to apply for UGC NET JRF 2023 is given below,

Name of the Exam - UGC NET JRF

@ In order to be eligible for "Junior Research Fellow" post, you must have completed Master's Degree from a recognized university or institute in the concerned discipline.

@ The minimum percentage required is 55% Mark's in the qualifying examination.

@ Also the maximum age should not exceed 31 years to be eligible. And there will be an age relaxation of 5 years for reserved category candidiates.

If you can meet all the above mentioned criteria, then I can say that you are certainly eligible to sit for the test.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must qualify master's degree from any recognized board or university to be eligible. Applying candidate must have scored minimum 55% marks (50% as OBC/ SC/ ST/ PwD/ Third gender) without round off.

Age Criteria: For JRF, candidate must not be more than 31 years.

The minimum education required for appearing in the UGC NET is a Master's degree in a relevant discipline with at least 55% marks in aggregate (or 50% marks in aggregate in case of reserved category candidates) from a recognized university. Candidates can appear in the same examination while pursuing their Master's degree course as well.
Also, there is no upper age limit for appearing in the same examination for the Assistant professor post but in case a candidate is interested in JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) then his/her age must not exceed 30 years. Further, there is the provision of age relaxation for candidates belonging to reserved category candidates as per the government norms.
