Hello everyone, I want to apply for PhD in Horticulture course in Sikkim University. I would like to know about the eligibility criteria for applying in this institute for this PhD program. Please let me know about the eligibility criteria asap. Thank you!

The eligibility to study PhD in Horticulture at Sikkim University is a candidate must have passed a post-graduation in the relevant field with a minimum score of 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized university. Admission selection is done on the basis of performance in the written test followed by an interview. There is no specific age limit to apply for this course.

The eligibility to study PhD Horticulture at Sikkim University is, candidates must have a post graduate degree in a relevant stream with minimum 55%marks from a recognized university.

Candidates also have to appear in the entrance exam called GATE, NET and SLET.

The duration of this course is 3 years.

Students who have passed with at least 55% marks / equivalent grade for General and 50% marks / equivalent grade for SC, ST and OBC (Central List)/DA candidates in Master Degree in relevant/allied disciplines are eligible to apply for Ph. D programme.

Candidates for the Ph. D program must have finished a Master's degree in a relevant or related field with at least 55% of the minimum marks or the equivalent grade*from any recognized university.

Sikkim University PhD Admission 2022-23 Eligibility Criteria:-

Admission Procedure:-

Duration of this course is 3 years.

Those candidates who have completed their masters degree from a recognized university can do PhD Horticulture.

Duration of this course is 3 years.

NET and GATE is the entrance exam.

Eligibility:

1. You must have passed a graduation course with a minimum of 60℅ marks from any university. You must also have passed Post graduation course in relevant discipline.

2. There is no age bar to pursue this course.

3. Admission to this course is based on the entrance test.

Those who have completed their masters degree in relevant /allied discipline are eligible to apply for PhD programme.

Must have scored atleast 55% (general) and 50% for (sc/st/obc)and above marks in their masters degree.

Admission is based on performance in written test and personal interview.
10% of weightage of the test will be given to candidates with NET/CSIR/NET/JRF/ICAR NET/ICMR etc

Eligibility criteria required to study PhD in Horticulture in Sikkim University:

The basic eligibility criteria required to pursue PhD in Horticulture in Sikkim University is given below,

Name of the Course- PhD in Horticulture

@ Candidates must have completed M.Sc in Horticulture or M.Sc in Horticulture with specialization in Vegetable Science or Fruit Science or Floriculture and Landscaping or Post Harvest Technology or Medicinal Aromatic Plants ..etc., from a recognized university or institute to be eligible.

@ The minimum required percentage in qualifying examination is 50% Mark's for SC or ST or OBC candidiates and 55% Mark's for all other category candidates.

@ Selection will be done based on the performance in Written Test followed by Interview by the concerned department.

If you have got at least 55% marks in your Masters then you can surely apply for admission in PH.D in Horticulture. For reserved category there is 5% relaxation in marks.

Hence, just wait for admission notification and apply for admission if you fulfill the above criteria. You have to appear for written exam and interview for getting admission.

Eligibility to study PhD(Horticulture) in Sikkim University:-

Candidates who have done post graduate degree from a recognised university with minimum 55%marks can study PhD Horticulture.
